Working for us

Are you ready for the most exciting few years of your career? If so Lessness Heath Primary School is the place for you. The 650 children are looking for you to help them reach their full potential and the staff are looking for you to join their friendly, positive and focused team.

We are a large school on a journey and we have come a long way from the position Ofsted found in 2014. It is an exciting time to join the school as a teacher as we are expanding the number of teaching staff.

The journey is supported by having recently joined The Primary First Trust, a small and effective primary only academy chain. Whether you are new to teaching, an experienced practitioner or a senior manager there is potentially a place for you.

In exchange for your energy and motivation we can offer a welcoming environment, wonderful children, exceptional CPD and a great team of colleagues.

A friendly, positive and focused team

We will only succeed if everyone pulls in the same direction and pull we must, as the fantastic children we have only get one chance at education. Together we need to make it the best education we can. As a school we want everyone involved with the school to feel proud of the part they play.

When joining Lessness you will be joining a friendly, positive and focused team. In key stage 2 we have four teachers per year group who share equal responsibility within the year group which allows us to work effectively as a team and meet our pupil’s needs. All year groups benefit from shared PPA which means they can plan collectively. We are a sociable team and enjoy arranging a variety of activities throughout the school year.

Progress your career supported by exceptional CPD

We are supported by the Primary First Trust in offering exceptional CPD. At any stage of your career we can offer bespoke tailored training which can support your individual needs and career aspirations. At the centre of this CPD is pathways development programme that covers:

NQTs, NQT mentors, Initial Leaders communities, Outstanding teachers, Inclusion leaders, Senior leaders and Headteacher pathways.

The Trust offers an excellent and unique opportunity for local career progression.

We pride ourselves that each of our staff members will be clear about the next steps of their development, how they can move forward and where they can access the expertise to achieve their aims.

Upon joining the school you will invited to an induction day in July and a Trust induction in September.

As an NQT joining us you would receive a supportive and unique experience to start your teaching career.

A creative curriculum

At Lessness Heath Primary we are committed to developing the whole child. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which enables all children to develop a lifelong love of learning; promotes the willingness to question and explore, and allows all children to achieve the highest possible outcomes. At the heart of our curriculum is the power of reading and this year Harry Potter and the Hunger games have been a popular theme.

We are really excited to be introducing a creative curriculum in September 2016 which will offer our children a range of rich and stimulating experiences.
