We are very lucky as a school that we benefit from excellent transport links by road and rail; this means our staff team are able to travel to us from a vast number of locations not only from across North and West London but the surrounding areas.

West London has great transport routes for candidates wanting to live further away from the hustle and bustle of city life and for those who enjoy being in the thick of things. Lady Bankes school is situated just half a mile from Ruislip Manor station which is served by both the Piccadilly and Metropolitan underground lines; from here you can reach central London in just 31 minutes.

There are excellent transport links via car, bus and rail to other London boroughs and to the outskirts of London. We are just 2 miles from the A40 and 6 miles from the M25, which makes commuting by road very easy. We are also very accessible for many of the locations classed as London fringe.

Bus routes U1 and U10 link Lady Bankes School with West Ruislip station where you can get on the Central underground line and the Chiltern Railway line.

What North-West London has to offer

West London

West London has some of the most exciting boroughs and places to live in the whole city. Living in West London you will never be short of parks to help you relax, keep fit and enjoy your leisure time.

Ruislip

Being so close to London you are only a short journey from all that London has to offer. However Ruislip has it’s own attractions not to be missed.

The national nature reserve is located in Ruislip woods where you can learn to horse ride or just wonder through the natural forest. The fortnightly food and artisan Duck Pond market offers a unique shopping experience too.

For sports fans Ruislip boasts Hillingdon Borough and Wealdstone football clubs, Ruislip Rugby Club, and 94 year old Ruislip Golf Course. Ruislip is also the home of Eastcote Hockey Club and Ruislip Eagles West London Handball Club.

The Village square has a famous water pump which was sunk in the centre in 1864.

The 22 acre Manor Farm which incorporates the remains of settlements dating back to the 9th century and is now a local heritage site.

Where better to go on a sunny day than Ruislip Lido, a nineteenth century reservoir with an artificial sand beach, surrounded by woodlands through which runs the Ruislip Lido Railway, a miniature 12" gauge railway with diesel and steam locomotives.
