What is HS2 London to Birmingham?

HS2 is the new High-Speed Rail link planned for 2026 to connect London and Birmingham and by 2033 include Leeds and Manchester to create a more connected Britain on a faster network.

London to Birmingham in 49 minutes

Traditional transport lines may take upwards of 1 hour 20 minutes. With connecting trains and multiple stops, this can easily be a long and tedious journey, mostly unsuitable for a London work commute.

The new HS2 line cuts that time to 49 minutes allowing for more external London commuting, therefore lower entry prices to jobs and working in the capital.
