Ruislip
Ruislip is a unique part of West London, combining English tradition, history and charm with all the zest and convenience of a modern, multicultural community.
Being so close to London you are only a short journey from all that London has to offer. However Ruislip has it’s own attractions not to be missed.
The national nature reserve is located in Ruislip woods where you can learn to horse ride or just wonder through the natural forest. The fortnightly food and artisan Duck Pond market offers a unique shopping experience too.
For sports fans Ruislip boasts Hillingdon Borough and Wealdstone football clubs, Ruislip Rugby Club, and 94 year old Ruislip Golf Course. Ruislip is also the home of Eastcote Hockey Club and Ruislip Eagles West London Handball Club.
The Village square has a famous water pump which was sunk in the centre in 1864.
The 22 acre Manor Farm which incorporates the remains of settlements dating back to the 9th century and is now a local heritage site.
Where better to go on a sunny day than Ruislip Lido, a nineteenth century reservoir with an artificial sand beach, surrounded by woodlands through which runs the Ruislip Lido Railway, a miniature 12" gauge railway with diesel and steam locomotives.
