Client Accountant (Block) - Croydon

ROLE Overview
Reporting to the Client Accounting Manager, the role will be to assist the Client Accounting team with accounting and administrative tasks to ensure that all deadlines are met and adequate accounting records kept.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. BANK RECONCILIATIONS
Ensuring that up to 4000 bank reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis in line with ARMA Q legislation.


2. PREPARING YEAR END RESERVE FUND ESTIMATIONS AND CASH ADJUSTMENTS.
To prepare and process reserve fund estimations and processing cash adjustments at year end or when requested.


3. PREPARING AND SUBMITING CYCLICAL FINANCIAL REPORTS
Preparing monthly/quarterly financial reports where it has been requested by the clients.


4. UTILITY CHARGE CALCULATION AND DISTRIBUTION
Calculating quarterly/bi-annual utility charges for developments where this is required and distributing these to the residents.


5. DEALING WITH SECTION 22 REQUESTS
Monitoring Section 22 inspection requests and preparing the relevant paperwork.


6. ASSISTING WITH THE INTEGRATION OF ACQUISITIONS
Assisting with the integration of new acquisitions, including but not limited to loading tenant balances and trial balances onto PMS, dealing with handover funds etc.


7. PRODUCTION OF PROPERTY YEAR END AUDIT PACKS
Preparing the paperwork for the year end accounts pack and sending to the external accountants.


8. YEAR END JOURNAL COLLATION AND ENTRY
Assisting with obtaining the year end adjustments from the external accountants, preparing and inputting the journal vouchers required through the PMS system.


9. YEAR END VOID CALCULATIONS CALCULATION, INPUT AND DISTRIBUTION OF BALANCING CHARGES/CREDITS
Assisting with preparing the year end balancing calculation and input of the year end balancing service charge surplus/deficit entries and raising manual demands as appropriate.


10. LOST BLOCKS
To ensure that the lost block process is completed within 3 months of the handover date, including; reconciling and providing handover packs to the new agent, transferring all funds and dealing with any queries from the new agents.


11. ADDITIONAL ADHOC ACCOUNTING/ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
Assisting with any additional adhoc accounting or administrative task if stipulated by the Client Accounting Manager or Head of Client Finance.


Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be provided with adequate training to enable them to complete any necessary tasks and therefore experience in the property management industry would be a bonus but is not essential.
