Salary and hours:
- £10,680 PER ANNUM
- 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK
- Monday to Thursday (08:30am - 5:00pm), Friday (08:30am - 14:00pm)
- Programme 27- 33 months
- This role may involve you needing to be flexible within your working hours and therefore shift patterns will occur of which a shift premium will be paid.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking to employ and train Apprentices in the process of High-Pressure Vacuum Die Casting.
You will be highly trained to work in the world of large tonnage Die Casting manufacturing; the initial training will be broad based casting and production based leading to a first appointment.
The apprenticeship will be 3 years and consist of both time at Cosma Casting UK and Day Release to Dudley College.
Your role will be varied and will include areas such as:
- Attend Die Casting L3 Apprenticeship at Dudley College
- Complete and pass all 21 mandatory units
- Complete and pass 1 optional unit
- Complete Level 1-3 Die Casting Machine Operator training on site at CCUK
- Ensure all mandatory CCUK training units are completed on time (HSE)
- Guarantee a safe working environment
- Ensure all production processes conform to current quality standards
- Manufacture parts in time to satisfy customer demand
- Strive to improve production processes
- Be part of team to root cause analysis of non-conforming production and implement corrective actions
- Quality check of parts produced
- Record hourly performance and Key characteristics of parts produced
- Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all Health and Safety environmental requirements
To become a valued part of our innovative team you will need to possess the following:
Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent grade A-C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word etc.)
- Mobility to attend both place of work (Telford) and Dudley College
- Passion to learn about manufacturing and technology
- Good problem solving skills
- Team player
- Confidence to challenge the status quo
- Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goals
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Good communicator both written and verbal
